How the number is built
- Buy side. Every retailer is checked for the cheapest in-stock copy, new and pre-owned listed separately. Out-of-stock rows are ignored.
- Sell side. Stores that publish buyback quotes are read for what they will pay for your copy — whether or not they currently stock it.
- Net cost. Buy price minus the best cash quote. Cash and store credit are kept apart, because they are not the same thing.
